Here's what I've been up to:
I've been planting lots and lots of flowers
tomatoes and peppers
I planted lots of herbs, here is mint and lemon balm. The smell is amazing!
Basil and Dill
greek oregano, lavender, and rosemary (my absolute favorite herb)
parsley
I painted my front porch
I found this spray paint with different colored speckles in it. I really like the result.
Remember this rock project post?
Well, I continued with that same idea around the perimeter of my house.
My husband says I'm depleting our neighborhood's rock resources. My boys think it's "outta control" I tell them "You want to play XBOX; go get me 5 rocks." Just kidding, sort of!

I surrounded a fire pit with stones. Watching the flickering fire at night is so relaxing. Next I think I need to add a water feature. I can hear it now drowning out the sound of my boys, ahhh.
Also a future project is to paint the back porch. I'll post pictures after I do it.
P.S. I'm linking up to Marla at Always Nesting
Woo Hoo! Vanessa. Your yard is fabulous! I love all the flowers and plants. You've been busy, girl. You tell your boys good job finding beautiful rocks. I love that border.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking to Woo Hoo! Wednesday and joining the fun. Have you thought about adding an email address (I have a separate one just for blog/decor) to your About Me? Hugs, Marla
Vanessa, your landscaping is magnificent. You have done a phenomenal job. I love how you have constructed the border for your flower beds, very pretty! I also love the herbs in pots, very clever.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I have a lot of great outdoor ideas. =)
Also, thank you for the sweet comments on my blog! *smile*

Wow! Love all your home photos! Your house & gardens look amazing! The firepit is such a great idea too! Thanks for the inspiration! xo
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. You have really been working hard and it shows. Your post if rather funny too because I know first hand the dilemma of moving rocks, and the kids are always the ones who find the whole thing "crazy". When I was putting in my pond, I was determined to have "natural" rocks from local creeks...if that wasn't the craziest idea I've ever had -- You know rocks can really weigh down a car. Anyway, I would love it if you would link your post to my Boardwalk Bragfest. I'm going to take a closer look at your blog now.
ReplyDeleteLove the faux built in fire pit! What a great alternative to get the same look!
ReplyDeleteYour rock landscaping is great! It is one of my favorite ways to do landscaping. A rock garden is great too!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot of work. Bravo to you for such a pretty landscaped yard. Can't wait to see everything in full bloom!
ReplyDeleteI'm a woman who loves to see a hard project completed, and this is certainly one of them. Thank you for sharing it on the Boardwalk Bragfest!
ReplyDeleteHi Vanessa, just found your blog via the 'bragfest at Jan's:) I love your blog and love seeing your garden (I'm really in to gardens as you'll see if you pop over for a visit) we are growing veggies again this year and I've also been trying to make the front porch all pretty. I want to paint my concrete too but never thought of spray paint? Does it go on evenly? What kind did you use? I'd love to know.

Your landscaping looks great! I really like how you've incorporated the firepit - such a good idea! I've never thought of spray painting my concrete!
ReplyDeleteManuela
Good Morning! Your yard is beautiful! Can I borrow your green thumb? Hope you have the best weekend! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Vaness!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are one of my friends, I hope we can grow in the Lord together and encourage one another to be the best home makers we can be, and do our jobs with joy and gratefulness!
I had to laugh at your rock project, because one afternoon last year, I drove to the part of our subdivision, near the river, where they were still building homes. There were tons (pun intended) of gorgeous rocks (like yours) in piles throughout the street. I drove my CR-V over there, and filled the back, not once, not twice, but three times with rocks, and made a perimeter between the grass and the "wooded area" in our backyard. I bribed my girls with a trip to Bruster's!
It looks so much nicer, now.
So, I do love your rocks, too!
I also really like the painted stoop.
Just like Denise, I'd like to know how and what kind of spray paint you used.
The porch looks fabulous!
You can email me, if you'd like to let me know?
Blessings as you make your home!
I forgot to type the "a" in your name!
ReplyDeleteUgh.
Sorry.
